We have several times been asked if it is possible to place our solar collectors on flat roofs. So we did a test to see how flat our solar collectors can be mounted without compromising the drain-back properties. Now we have tested several different angles and see that the drain-back is not affected significantly even at only 3 degrees. This allows for "flat" installation of solar collectors and architectural integration even on flat roofs.
This video identify the solar activity and the magnetic flux in the following days
On request from OREEC - Oslo Renewable Energy and Environment Cluster, we will provide lectures for 3 secondary schools in the Oslo region. The purpose is to train the next generation to understand the possibilities within solar energy in Norway and the technologies that are applicable. The three current schools are Nadderud high school with a lecture at the NHO - Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise, Frogn high school with a lecture at the Science Park at Oslo University and Lørenskog high school in the Knowledge city's house at Kjeller.
128 C at a solar radiation of 545 Watts theoretical, normal to the beam, mist with visibillity of 2 kilometers, outdoor temperature of 7 C and elevation of the solar collector at 45 degrees.

We just released a new version of our solar energy calculator. We made some changes in the layout to make it easier and faster for you to enter and calculate the benefits of using solar thermal energy systems with our solar collectors.
Try our new solar thermal energy calculator
156 C at a radiation of 690 Watts theoretical normal to the beam and 20% clouds, outdoor temperature of 15 C and elevation of the solar thermal collector at 45 degrees we reached a temperature of 156 C inside the collector.

160 C at a radiation of 734 Watts theoretical normal to the beam and 0% clouds, outdoor temperature of 18 C and elevation of the solar thermal collector at 45 degrees we reached a temperature of 160 C inside the collector.

We are moving into new manufacturing facilities at Høvik outside Oslo. The new location is ideal both with regard to the manufacturing of the solar collectors, but also regarding supplies and deliveries to our near customers. Only 1 minute from E-18 the main highway between Oslo and Drammen and only 10 minutes from Oslo main port.
Our solar collector is based on drain-back. Ie. the circulating fluid is drained back into a storage tank when the temperatures are too low or too high. Many customers have requested a solution to allow this drain-back even when the solar collectors are placed at the same level or lower than the solar heat storage tank. We are pleased to meet our customers demand with this new solution.
Catch Solar Energy AS received commitments for grants for further research and development of the patented flat solar collector and the solar thermal energy systems that had just won the honorary prize at the Nordic Council of Ministers meeting. The support from Innovation Norway is a recognition and a good contribution to the development of Catch Solar Energy AS
Catch Solar Energy received the award as the best renewable energy solution and special distinction at the "The Nordic Conference for Renewable Development" on the 1st year anniversary of the company that was established on February 1st 2010. The jury evaluated our flat solar colletors among 80 other technologies and awarded Catch Solar Energys flat solar collectors for efficient utilization of solar thermal energy, with special distinction. The jury explains; the technology to be outstanding and with a potential for a wide variety of applications.
Hans-Christian Francke receives the award from Mr. Johnny Åkerholm at the Nordic Investment Bank with specisal distinction for the best environmental technology at the "Nordic Conference for Renewable Development" in Turku, Finland.
Catch Solar Energy AS has developed new web sites to enhance the information about our flat solar collector and our solar thermal energy system to you.
We will constantly strive to keep the information up to date, giving you all the necessary information about the solar thermal energy system and solar collectors. We wish you a merry Christmas and a sunny new year.
Catch Solar Energy AS was founded on February 1st 2010. The company holds new and patented technology for solar thermal energy systems to provide you with solar energy to heat water and buildings while saving money. Our flat solar collector utilizes almost all of the solar energy as opposed to solar cells that utilize about 10% as transformed electricity. Therefore our solar collector can be a true renewable source of energy for the energy authorities. An energy source with inexhaustible renewable energy.
The CC9 climate conference was held on June 4-6th, with delegates from around the world, such as Robert F. Kennedy, Bellona-leader Fredrik Hauge, Jose Antonio (Club de Mardid) Figueras, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette Marit, primeminister Jens Stoltenberg, environmental minister Erik Solheim, and many other environmental activists from countries throughout the world. Hans-Christian Francke participated as a delegate for norwegian solar thermal enerrgy at the climate conference CC9.
